Non-residential buildings must use water heating systems saving at least 60%

Minister of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy Dr. Subaih Al-Mukhaizeem issues a decision adopting the technical code for water heaters in buildings. The code applies to all residential and non-residential buildings in Kuwait. Non-residential buildings must install a system that saves at least 60% of total water heating demand. Residential buildings remain free to choose any water heating system, but compliance with the code's energy-efficiency requirements becomes mandatory when they opt for high-efficiency systems such as solar water heaters and heat pumps. All covered systems must meet Kuwaiti standard 1903:2025, according to Al-Seyassah.
